The Editor of Radiation Guru, Mr. Amitava Bhattacharya is Accredited to Government of India Press Information Bureau and is  qualified Basic television production and Technical Operations expert from Film & Television Institute of India, Pune. He has done Television Sports Production from Asia Pacific Institute of Broadcasting Development, Kuala Lampur, Malaysia in 1982 and Specialization Course for News and Current affairs of Six months duration from B.B.C. World Television in 1985.


Career Highlights

Successfully launched S1 television as GM Operations and looked after the entire operations from news gathering to the final telecast. Coordinated between departments such as Graphics, Video Editing, Technical, IT, Audio-Video, RF Engineering, Camera crew, Reporters, etc.

Joined Senior Media Limited (S1 Television) in 2004 from the beginning of the project as Technical Coordinator and worked from planning to the complete execution of starting of the channel on 31st July, 2005.

• Worked as Head programming & Technical in Shakti Television, New Delhi.
• Headed A.T.N news section in Moscow for 6 months in the year 1995.
• Worked for a film on Copper Production in India which was shown on the occasion of Silver Jubilee Celebration of Hindustan Copper Limited, is in English as well as Hindi, was shown in the National Network by Doordarshan and was also awarded First Prize by SCOPE authority.
• Made two films For French T.V. One on Dances of India which was shown one day before the festival of India started in Paris. The 2nd film on Pt. Ravi Shanker the World's best Sitarist which was shown in Channel II of French T.V.
• In February 1994 made a film for UNICEF on Bihar Education Project.
• In October 1995 made a film for UN/ESCAP Division of Industries, Human settlement, Bangkok, which was shown at the United Nation's Headquarters in New York.
• Deputed as Prime Minister’s cameraman and did coverages for the likes of Mrs. Indira Gandhi from 1981 to 1984; Shri Rajiv Gandhi from 1984 till his Prime Ministership; Shri V.P. Singh, Shri Chandra Shekar and Shri P.V. Narasimha Rao.
• From 1980 to 1993, worked with Indian Television (Doordarshan, India), Government of India, in the News Division.
• Covered many important events/disasters like the Blue Star Operation, the Black Thunder Operation, the Bhopal Gas Tragedy and Coup Attempt in Republic of Maldives
• Worked with many companies in India and abroad such as B.B.C., A.B.C., French T.V., German T.V. APTN TV, Nippon TV, SKY TV & CNN.
• Made around 356 prominent Ad. Films
• Worked for 28 T.V. serials which have been telecasted from Indian TV Channels.
• Made more than 780 films till the year 2004
• Done live telecast of more than 1152 well known memorable events with multi cameras from India & South East Asia
